Mount Vernon Home Styles
Of the 434 Homes in Mount Vernon, all solidly built in the mid-70's, 258 are
Single Story Villa styles and 176 are Two-Story (choose a Home on the First
or Second Floor) Condos or Lake Homes.
Many of our Mount Vernon Homes, whether they are Villas, Condos or Lake Homes,
have a Water-View, either on our Canal which leads to Sarasota Bay, one of our
three Lakes, or a direct view of Sarasota Bay.
(Please Note: Our term Lake House is just a description of a Home style since
our Homes are mostly Water-View oriented in some fashion).
The Mount Vernon Villas are different from our Condos and Lake Homes in that
they are more like traditional Homes with their own Carports (rather than
being assigned) and Garden/Landscaped areas around each home. They also have
back Patios. If you like Gardening, a Mount Vernon Villa is a great choice.
Villas are available in Single (Stand-Alone), Duplexes, Triplex and Quadruplex
styles. Most are Duplex styles. Most have Two-Bedrooms and several have One
and Three Bedrooms.
Many of our Villas are Lake-View or are on our Canal.
The Condos and Lake Houses are all Two-Story with the choice of a First or
Second Floor Home. The Condos have both Stairs and Elevators.
The Lake Homes have Stairs to directly access the Second Floor Home.
The Condos and Lake Homes have assigned, covered Carports which have recently
been replaced with 130 MPH Wind Certified construction.
Condos and Lake Homes are all Two-Bedroom Homes.
Square Footage depends on the Home style but varies between 1100 to 1500
Square Feet. They are fairly Maintenance-Free since the Condominium Association
is responsible for Landscape Trimming, Roofs and Exterior Painting. You clean
the inside, Mount Vernon does the rest.
Regarding the Square Footage, most of our Residents move here from large Homes
and desire the Comfort and Low Maintenance of a smaller size Home, such as our
Mount Vernon Homes. They are designed for the Over-55 Resident who wants to
Play more, and Work considerably less.
"Outside and Outdoor" are a big deal
here. Scenic Lakes, Parks, Pathways and a wide array of outdoor Sports Activities.
Plus, if you can't find enough to do here, there is always the Beach
just a few miles down the road. And then there is our Boating and Kayaking.
Mount Vernon is a Water-Front Community. Docks for your Boat and direct
access to Sarasota Bay, the IntraCoastal and the Gulf.
